Board of Directors

 

President, Lorraine Ganz

President Ganz has served in a variety of governance positions at Rimland Services since its inception in 1970, including President, Vice President, and Development Chair. One of Rimland Services’ co-founders, President Ganz was instrumental in establishing the State of Illinois ’ first community-based residential facility designed for young adults with significant behavioral challenges. A retired special education teacher, President Ganz holds a Master’s degree in education from Illinois State University.

 

Vice President, Bernice Gryczan

Vice President Gryczan joined the Board of Directors in 1982, after being named Parent Group President of, what was then, The Rimland School for Autistic Children. Vice President Gryczan coordinated a network to ensure education funding for recreational activities for children with disabilities. A retired administrator from the Chicago Association for Retarded Children, Vice President Gryczan currently chairs our development committee.

 

Secretary, Barbara Cooper

Barbara Cooper is a Registered Nurse. She has been a part of Rimland for almost six years. Barbara trains all of Rimland’s Direct Support Professionals in the area of Medication Administration.

 

Member-at-Large, William Egan

Director Egan, a Board member since 2001, has been involved with Rimland Services for over 15 years in various capacities, including the coordination and implementations of various fund-raising events. Director Egan works in the non-profit sector for the organization that provides health and pension benefits to clergy and lay personnel of the United Methodist Church. In his role, he manages overall relationships with vendors providing critical services to the denomination.

 

Member-at-Large, Dr. Petham Muthuswamy

Dr. Petham Muthuswamy was born in Salem, Tamil Nadu state, India . He completed Medical School at Stanley Medical College , Madras and came to Chicago in 1970. He then did his post graduate training in internal medicine and Subspecialty Training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago . He was the Chairman of the Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Program Director of the Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship Training Program at Cook County Hospital from 1979 to 2001. His department was listed in the list of Best Hospitals by the US News and World Report from 1998-2001. He is currently in private practice and is the Medical Director of the Cardio-Pulmonary Department of Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago.

Member-at-Large, Donald Olsen

Donald Olsen is an attorney. He graduated from the University of Illinois , Champaign-Urbana , Illinois in 1985 and from the University of Washington School of Law, Seattle , Washington in 1988. Mr. Olsen is licensed to practice in the state of Washington (1989) and the state of Illinois (1991). Mr. Olsen has primarily practiced in the areas of estate and business planning, federal and state taxation, probate and trust administration, and commercial and residential real estate transactions. Mr. Olsen has practiced law with AV-rated Chicago area firms continuously since 1991.
